U-MIX® Mortar Mix is a specially formulated blend of Portland cement, lime or fire clay and fine sand. This product is ideal for use in the laying of bricks, block or stone. All ingredients are thoroughly premixed to ensure maximum strength and work-ability. Simply add water. Meets or exceeds strength requirements of ASTM C-387 for Type N mortar when used as directed.

PREPARATION:

All surfaces should be clean and free of oil, gas, paint, grease, etc. before applying mix.

TOOLS YOU MAY NEED:

Wheelbarrow or Mixer, Trowel, Shovel or Hoe, Snap Line and Level, Hammer and Chisel.

DIRECTIONS FOR MIXING:

Pour U-MIX® Mortar Mix into a clean wheelbarrow, mortar box, or mixing bucket. Form a crater in the center of the dry mix. Pour clean potable water into the crater at a rate of one quart per 15 pounds of mix. Work the mix with a shovel or hoe adding water as needed to achieve a stiff moldable mixture. Avoid over wetting the mix. Adding excessive water may weaken the mix.

FOR BEST RESULTS:

Use only when temperature is 40° and rising. In cold weather use warm, not hot, water for mixing.

Dampen the block or the repair area before applying the new mortar to prevent premature drying of the new material.

Keep the new mortar damp for at least three (3) days by occasional fine spraying with water.
